The programme will feature BVA Live Companion including two small animal clinical streams, BVA Live Debate, BVA Live Careers and two exhibitor showcases. Paul Horwood


Paul has had a varied career so far, initially an Officer in the Royal Marines, Paul left and trained as a vet at RVC, qualifying in 2000, but kept his links with the military, returning to the front line in Afghanistan in 2012.

He joined Westpoint Farm Vets, becoming partner, owner and director along the way, before selling to Private Equity in 2015. In 2017, Paul diversified and set up Sandstone Communications with some other interesting people he had met.

Paul has a Diploma in Bovine Reproduction, an MBA from Open University, is a trustee of Vetlife, is a Mental Health First-aider, and is a founder of VetYou, a financial advice platform for the veterinary profession.

Sarah M. A. Caney

BVSc PhD DSAM(Feline) MRCVS, RCVS Specialist in Feline Medicine

Sarah is internationally recognised as one of only thirteen RCVS Specialists in feline medicine working in the UK. Sarah has always enjoyed seeing a mixture of first opinion and referral feline medicine patients and has a particular interest in elderly cat medicine.

Sarah founded Vet Professionals in 2009 and has authored a number of the Vet Professionals ‘Caring for a cat’ series of books. Sarah regularly conducts online research with cat owners and has published widely in prestigious international journals.
