Qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1975. I am a retired Veterinary Surgeon having worked in general practice with both farm and companion animals for over 40 years. I took up beekeeping about 18 years ago and currently have 8 hives. I am President of the Ulster Beekeepers Association and also founder President of the British Bee Veterinary Association. I teach beekeeping in Greenmount Agricultural College in Antrim at beginner and more senior level. I have delivered lectures in vet schools and talks at local organisations such as Probus, Woman’s’ Institute and schools. I gave some lectures to the United Staes Honeybee Veterinary Consortium in North Carolina Vet School.
