Perhaps the most controversial of all notifiable disease impacting the UK, bovine tuberculosis incidence and control methods vary considerably within even within our national borders. Whether you believe this is a cattle disease, a wildlife disease, or a social science problem, there’s lots to debate. In this session the four UK chief veterinary officers are brought together to discuss the status of the disease in their nations and their devolved government’s current control methods

•Bovine TB is an infectious notifiable disease

•Three populations affected by bovine TB - people, wildlife, and cattle

•The current status of bovine TB in the four UK nations

•The current control methods being used across the nations, the challenges they present, and the opportunities for new methods of disease control

•Bovine TB eradication is a shared goal, best achieved through partnership
