Richard established Sanderson Vet in 2016, a GP Hospital which in 2025 was named BestUKVet and is a BVA Accredited Great Workplace. In 2023 he formalised their referral services opening Peninsula Veterinary Referrals, an affordable specialist-led multi-disciplinary clinic, then in 2025 he founded WirralPet999, a 24-hour A&E for pets to help the local community access dedicated emergency care. Richard graduated in 2009 and is a Fear-Free and CAETA Certified RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Practice. He holds a CertAVP in Small Animal Practice and a GPCert in Small Animal Surgery. He holds a Lv5 Award in Veterinary Leadership and Management and Certificates in Practice Management and Consulting. Richard is passionate about practice culture, and has spoken across the World on providing structure and training opportunity to encourage positive culture. He has a particular interest in diagnostics and how to remove barriers when changing culture when it comes to clinical approach.
