Lindsay graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004. She spent some time in first opinion practice where she developed an interest in emergency and critical care medicine. She then completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010 and became an American, European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. She then worked as a Lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College for 8 years before leaving to take up the position of Head of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Dick White Referrals in 2018.
