Marnie undertook her vet training in Perth, Australia and spent several years working in mixed and small animal practice in Australia and the UK. She briefly worked for the UK government before conducting a PhD at the University of Liverpool. She joined the University of Nottingham in 2009.
Marnie is Associate Professor in Epidemiology and Director of the Centre for Evidence-based Veterinary Medicine (CEVM). The CEVM is a unique research and knowledge exchange centre working directly with the veterinary professions to enhance the use of research-based evidence in clinical practice and to conduct research relevant to clinical decision-making. She has an interest in preventive medicine and the factors influencing its implementation.
