Mario Vastano
Veterinary Surgeon
Mario Vastano graduated with honours from the University of Messina (ITA) and moved to
the UK in 2015 to pursue his dream of becoming a veterinary cardiologist. After time in
general practice, where he gained the CertAVP in Small Animal Medicine. After a rotating
internship he joined the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, University of Liverpool team as
a cardiology intern and began his cardiology residency in 2023. He is in the final year of
his residency and he enjoys teaching and completed the Associate Fellowship (AFHEA)
in 2025. His interests span all aspect of cardiology, particularly electrocardiography and
interventional procedures.
