Justine graduated from Bristol in 2008, having intercalated in Veterinary Pathology at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). She volunteered in wildlife rehabilitation centres in Guatemala before working for five years in mixed practice. She graduated from the RVC/Zoological Society of London (ZSL)’s Masters in Wild Animal Health in 2014, completing field research on cheetah in Botswana. She worked at ZSL on native species reintroductions before joining Marwell Wildlife in 2015 where she was for eight years, leading the vet team in all aspects of healthcare at the zoo and teaching students at the University of Surrey. She was British Veterinary Association President in 2021-2 with her theme of Sustainability. Last November Justine joined the RSPCA as their Head Vet for Wildlife and Exotics. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and animal welfare and is writing a book on sustainable pet ownership.
