A starter’s guide to BVA Live

Do the words “BVA Live” mean anything to you? No? PERFECT! Read on, dear veterinary professional.

What is BVA Live?

BVA Live is the newest major event on the calendar for vet professionals. It launched in 2022 and welcomed over 1,000 delegates to the NEC for two days of CPD, hands-on training and networking. It comes to you from the team that bring you the London Vet Show and, of course, the BVA, so you know you are in the hands of expert event organisers.

BVA SeminarWhen (and where) is BVA Live?

11-12 May 2022 at the NEC in Birmingham.

How is BVA Live different from other CPD events?

BVA Live is the goldilocks of events – not too big and not too small. The audience is capped the at 1500 so you experience the energy and excitement of the London Vet Show in an intimate environment. CPD is streamlined so you can jump easily from theatre to theatre and digest what is on offer in a glance. Plus, there is a huge emphasis on learning by participation – whether in hands-on streams like the Wet Labs or in walk-up sessions on the BVA stand. The lively exhibition hall hosts 150 exhibitors meaning you can enjoy browsing what’s on offer without breaking out into a light jog to get to your next session. Ultimately, BVA Live is an environment specifically designed for you to get the most out of your two days away from practice.

Do I get CPD points for attending?

Yep! And exhibition time and networking are included, not just lectures. You can cover up to 17 hours CPD at BVA Live.

Tell me more about the CPD – what’s on offer?

Two amazing clinical streams which will host some of the country’s best veterinary educators, and a non-clinical theatre which covers the latest advice and guidance on business and careers and lively debates. There are also two popular stages on the exhibition floor with a range of content jam-packed with the latest case studies, products and innovations. And the famous Vet Show Wet Labs will be back with Central CPD.

What about nurses and managers?

BVA Live will host a clinical and professional development stream specifically designed for nurses, as well as business and leadership content perfect for managers and practice owners.

Is it just for BVA members?

No! Everyone is welcome at BVA Live.

What’s something most vet professionals wouldn’t know about BVA Live?

The party night is one of a kind. The capped audience makes it the perfect opportunity for an inclusive party night where all delegates are invited to let their hair down. This networking evening is unlike anything on offer and is already the most anticipated veterinary parties of the year. We won’t give too much away now but know it’s an evening to be missed. And it’s totally free!BVA Drinks

I don’t really know the NEC – what can I expect?

The NEC in Birmingham is perfectly equipped to welcome the veterinary profession. Just like the London Vet Show – BVA Live is contained within one exhibition hall so you can easily navigate your way around the show. Plus, there is plenty of parking and hotels onsite you won’t need to worry about navigating central Birmingham traffic or transport.

Cut to the chase - how much will it cost me?
