Patients presenting with respiratory compromise need to be rapidly evaluated to prevent further deterioration. The treatment and stabilisation options vary depending on the anatomical area of respiratory dysfunction. In this session we will review how the clinical signs and diagnostic tests in dogs and cats can be used to help localise respiratory disease, and in turn, how to implement appropriate stabilisation approaches for a range of acute respiratory emergencies.
- •Prepare for emergency respiratory case presentations
- •Create a stepwise approach to evaluating respiratory patients
- •Review current evidence base for stabilisation and treatment of respiratory cases
